"Walk with ME!"

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7: 13-14.

For those of you who have heard me teach from this text, you may recall, that Jesus is teaching us about choices along our “Christian Walk”.  The first choice that we see in these verses is the “Choice of Salvation” with a promise for eternal Life with Jesus Christ.  The second choice, is the “Choice of Obedience” with a promise for abundant Life in Jesus Christ, and finally we are given a choice of “How will we Serve Him when He Calls”.  This summer, we have several visitors who have answered that call to “Serve” and the people that they serve will be blessed with an opportunity to “Enter the Narrow Gate that Leads to Life!”

Joshua Tyer, Mary-Hanna Kindred, and Megan Tipping Fort Worth and Stephenville, TX have come to Thailand to visit.  They are teaching at Chiang Rai International Christian school for an ESL camp, working and teaching at Pha Mii Church and School in Mae Sai to help hill-tribe children learn English, they have also been helping with daily farm chores, special projects, and meeting the farm neighbors through our Business as Mission Project.  They have been a huge blessing at the farm, as I continue to rest and recuperate.  Some days, I have even given them the keys to the truck so that they can go, while I stay back at home.  They are great, and I might not let them leave when it comes time to send them home!

As they prepared to come, we spoke often about how God was planning to use them to serve the people of North Thailand and our family.  That said, in addition, we wanted to open as many opportunities as possible for them to see, visit, and learn about how God might use them long term on the mission field.  We have met with lots of different missionaries and organizations, toured mission projects, We have looked at Community outreach through our farm, we have talked about using Veterinary Medicine as Missions, we have seen Drug Rehabilitation Centers, Language Programs, Orphanages, Mountain Villages, Urban Cities, and simply taken lots of time to talk and share about what God has been doing in our own work and family through missions.  .  God has a plan for each and every one of us, and it is exciting to see young people so excited about what God may hold for their future.

It has been encouraging to see a theme unfold for this trip,  “WALK”.  Often, we don’t have all the answers, but Jesus simply asks us to “Walk” with Him for a time, so that we can rest, be encouraged, and learn more about Him and through Him.

This “THEME” can also apply to my own family and ministry.  Our experiences over the past six months have been some of the most challenging of our missions career, and we are often left asking “Why”? That said, we too, need to learn how to walk, so that we can see and clarify what God is doing and how He wants us to come alongside Him and participate.

There are many ways to participate with Missions at Narrow Gate Asia.  You can go and serve, you can help with organizational projects Stateside, you can pray, you can encourage and you can Give.

I wanted to share a Praise about our progress in raising the funds for our upcoming land payment.  As you may recall, we need to raise $10,000 usd before the end of this month.  We praise the Lord because during the past week, we have received Gifts of close to $3,000.  As you consider how you might participate in our projects at Narrow Gate Asia, we need your help to raise the balance of $7,000 usd for this payment.  We are excited about how God is providing, but also how God is showing us to “Walk” with Him and trust in His absolute guidance and provision for our family and our ministry.  If you do plan to give for the land payment, do not hesitate, as we will need time to receive, process, and send your gift to our project in Thailand prior to the end of the month.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, about how God might be leading you to join us at Narrow Gate Asia.  Please continue to pray for us, for our project, and we promise to continue to lift you up before our Lord and King as we “Enter through the Narrow Gate that leads to LIFE”!

God Bless, and Thank you from the Brittan Family
