"... I am the Lord your God ... You shall thus observe all My statues and all My ordinances and do them; I am the Lord." Leviticus 20: 36-37. Often, we want to debate, and decipher, and decide for ourselves, what it is that we are to do with our lives. Often, we even discover texts from scripture to help us defend our cause. However, what we should do, is really quite simple. He tells us to "DO THEM." Usually we know what we should do, and it is our prayer that we can be diligent in our obedience to the Lord.
What is it that Lord is calling you to do today? It is not always what you want to do. It is not always what other people want you to do. It is not what organizations want you to do.
But it is What the Lord wants you to do. So just DO IT!
WHAT IS MISSIONS?
That is the question of the day for young people at Vacation Bible School at Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. And missionary Pattie Brittan of Narrow Gate Asia is there to tell them. During her presentation to a group of young people on Monday, that is what the kids wanted to know. For Pattie, she summed it up by explaining that in John 10:10 , Jesus tells us that "I have come that they may have LIFE and have LIFE ABUNDANTLY." This means that we have to go to a place where Non-Christians live, and share with them about the promises that the Bible shares about having LIFE with Jesus Christ. This could be across the street, or around the world.
In her presentation, the children learn about Thailand, Thai Culture, Foods, and about our home and ministry projects. But, most importantly, the children learn about the task of sharing Jesus in a country where more than 95% of the people believe in Buddhism.
It has been a blessing this week to share about what our Father is doing in Thailand through Narrow Gate Asia and the Brittan Family. We have also been blessed to see the children of Birchman learn that they too have a responsibility to be on Mission. Let's all pray for workers, young and old, to stand in the Narrow Gate, that leads to Life.
DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Almost daily, we are asked about our progress in relation to being prepared to go back to the mission field, and praise the Lord he has given us opportunity to rejoice. During the past three months, we have been in the process of developing our team and board so that we can officially launch Narrow Gate Asia as non-profit entity here in the USA and our Attorney is beginning that process this week. In addition, God continues to be faithful to place NGA on the hearts of his people and is leading them to join our support team spiritually, physically, and financially.
We have reached over 40% of our annual personal support budget. It is exciting to see this happen in what some would consider a short amount of time, and we want to thank you for all of your prayers and support.
We praise God for this progress. Along with this, we still have many needs and opportunities for you, your family, and friends to get involved with Narrow Gate Asia. What an awesome opportunity to be able to share missions and the great work you all are doing with the VBS kids. I'll bet you made a tremendous impact on them and their understanding of what being a missionary is all about. I love following your updates.
