NGA Board Announcement

“Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. "I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, . . . "And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you.” Exodus 31: 1 – 6.

When Moses recorded these events, he was recalling the time when he had received instructions for construction of the Tabernacle, or the place that was to be the dwelling place of God. As the Leader of the Israelite People, Moses was given very explicit instructions about what and how to build every aspect of this place of worship. In these verses, we read about the craftsmen who had been selected by God to implement these plans. It is interesting to see just how concerned the Lord is with all of the details of construction and He is especially concerned with who is to do the work.

Certainly, just as Moses was called, the Lord calls leaders, pastors, and evangelist. But it is important to realize that the Lord has also called “by name”, the skilled craftsmen to fulfill the task. These craftsmen have been prepared by God with skills, understanding, knowledge, and especially with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. It is now their responsibility to fulfill the task that has been set before Moses.

It is much the same in our own lives, churches, and work. God has appointed the Leaders, and He has then called each one of us to be a part of His task, the Task of building His Kingdom here on earth. We are excited to see just how God is calling and preparing people to join our team here at Narrow Gate Asia, as we seek to complete the task that the Lord has given to our family.

How has God shaped and prepared you for the task?

BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR NARROW GATE ASIA

Over the course of the past several months, we have had opportunity to share with many people about the vision that God has given to us, and we are eager to return to Thailand in the coming weeks. We have shared with many of you about how God has been working in Thailand, and about how we have embarked on a journey to establish a new organization called Narrow Gate Asia. God has given us a vision for the future, a vision for the task, and a heart for the lost to see that God’s Kingdom will come in North Thailand and the surrounding countries. The Lord is also calling many people to come along side us at Narrow Gate Asia to pray, work, and support our ministries. Just as with the Israelites, God has been faithful to call several people “by name” to fulfill very specific tasks for this new organization.

Today, it is my pleasure to announce the names of the individuals who will be serving as our board of directors at Narrow Gate Asia. I am excited, because, God is prepared each one of them with very special skills and gifts, He has given them understanding and knowledge, and He especially has called them to the task and empowered them with the Holy Spirit, just as he did the craftsmen who served to build the Tabernacle.

I am blessed now to have the opportunity to be the first to introduce the founding members of the Narrow Gate Asia Board of directors:

In future editions of the Narrow Gate Asia newsletters, it is our hope to share profiles and articles from each of these individuals that will help you to know us better here at Narrow Gate Asia. Please be in prayer for our board as they prepare the initial documents and establish the systems that will build us into an efficient organization that is focused on the task that we all have been called to fulfill. Also, join us in thanking God for each one of these that has responded to God’s call to walk through the Narrow Gate that leads to life.

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Today is August 5, 2009, which means we depart for Thailand in 12 more days. We have been blessed to see just how faithful God has been to get us this far, and as we begin to countdown to our departure, wanted to thank each and every one who is praying for and supporting our ministry.

This past Sunday, we said “Good Bye,” to our friends at Prestonwood Baptist Church in the Champions Class at 8am and the Watermark Class at 9:15, followed by a luncheon and send off for us and for two others going to serve in Africa. It is a blessing to know that we are being sent by these groups and look forward to seeing you again to share more with you about what God is doing in the Narrow Gate that we call Mae Sai, Thailand.

During the next few days, we look forward to seeing and hearing from many more of you, and we especially want to encourage you to pray for these final days as we begin the countdown our return to Thailand.

In His Grip

Harry
