The condition of their heart........

Being the parent of four children, I am learning to speak to my children's heart each day. I am learning to discipline and praise them through their heart. When I hear one of my children respond with "Yes, maam." without being prompted, I feel a warm feeling inside. When I see my children sharing with each other because they want too, I get that same warm feeling inside. When my children eat their food without complaining, I get that same warm feeling inside. Times like these help me to see the condition of my children's hearts.

When I see my children fighting over a toy, I become very disappointed. When I see my children argue over how to play a game, I become very disappointed. When my children refuse to participate in family devotion time, I become very disappointed. Times like these help me to see the condition of my children's hearts.

God knows the condition of our hearts. He also has times when he has that warm feeling. When God sees His children obeying Him, he gets that warm feeling inside.

God's word tells us:

Delight yourself in the LORD
and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

God knows when your heart is in the right condition, and He will grant you the desires that reside there in your clean heart. The relationship is recipricol. God is always willing if our heart is in the right condition.

God also becomes very disappointed in His children. We can see this is in the first book of the Bible.

The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. Genesis 6:5-6

God saw the condition of man's heart, and He was grieved. God's heart has much pain due to the condition of His children's hearts. God can judge the heart of His children very easily.

We are not put here on earth to be judges of men's hearts. God can and will reveal the condition of a person's heart in His timing. We can not judge a person's heart condition on our own. God has a way of speaking to our heart about their heart condition. When God allows us to see the heart condition of another person, He is also faithful to help us to know how to deal with it. If we are willing to listen to God, we can be very useful for God.

God is allowing our family to see the condition of the people's heart where we live. God is showing us the urgency of the task here, and He is faithful in letting us know that He is going before us. We are "in-training" for the work set before us. We have already seen people who hunger to know God's word, and we are seeing people who have no hope. Today we were visited by a family that has become believers in the last two years, and they shared with us the freedom that they have felt in their new belief. It is an exciting time for us here!

Freedom in Christ!!

After working both for our family and at the training center, Zomin prayed to receive Christ in our chicken house. He has continued to grow in the Lord and to be an example of how the Power of Jesus Christ changes lives. We have not seen his family for many months. So we were very happy to visit with them, and we were able to see how the Lord is providing for them through a new bicycle repair business. It is especially fun to see and meet their new baby, Cornelius, for the first time. While we were eating lunch Zomin shared about how amazing the power of Jesus has been in his life over the past two years, and he also told us a story we had never heard.

Zomin reminded Harry of the time shortly after we first met him. Zomin's son was very ill. Harry recalled that Zomin wept as he told him about the illness of his son. He reminded Harry of the prayer that Harry offered to God for his son that day. This buddhist family had no where else to turn. Zomin had never told us until today that he expected his son to die. Zomin also shared with us today that when he returned home after that prayer, his son was completely healed. It was because of this display of God's power that Zomin's family came to know the Lord as their Savior. We were encouraged today. We knew that his son had gotten better, but God waited until today to reveal to us the severity and the timing of the situation. God captured Zomin's heart in an eternal way, and today God used this story to encourage us in a might way.

Prayer is a mighty tool that God can use to reach into the hearts of the people.
