Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us..." Hebrews 12:1.Mondays are always crazy, but this, being the first Monday of the new year seems to bring with it even more urgency than your typical day. During the Christmas and New Year's break, we have had a great time of fellowship, worship, and celebration, as we reflect on the birth of Jesus and on God's goodness throughout this past year. BUT... Today is no time for reflection! It is a day for preparation and planning for the race that has been set before us. The race of winning people! Winning Lives! Winning lost souls for the kingdom of God in North Thailand and the surrounding countries. In a way, I feel today like a runner. I have my feet in the starting blocks, and I am anxiously awaiting the gun from the official to get the race underway.
This is going to be a fantastic year for our family and for Narrow Gate Asia! We are starting of the year by hosting the Family Learning Center's High School Community Outreach. We will have 45 students come to work in the farm, and to do outreach and evangelism through English teaching at Phaa Mii Village Elementary School, and at the Language School in Phaa Mii in the evenings. These programs are going to not only help us complete our barn construction, but also help us to build relationships in local village that will lead to sharing the "Good News" of Jesus in a real and meaningful way.
On the 15th of this month, we will be receiving goats for our farm. These are being brought from central Thailand with the help of our friends Phii Arun and Phii Pang at YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Kan Chana Buri. We finalize our purchase this week and will complete our shipping arrangements for this exciting delivery. These next two weeks will be extremely busy, as we complete construction, and acquire the equipment, feeds, and materials that we need to care for these animals.This month, we are also beginning a discipleship / mentor-ship program to aid in the development of two young pastors that are called to plant churches across the border from us in Myanmar. One young man is currently starting a church plant among the Shan unreached people group, and the other will begin not only the mentor-ship program, but also will work and do practicum in our farm to learn how to use a Dairy Farm to sustain the local church.
As we look onward into the year, we are also starting to make plans for visitors from the United States to serve along with us in the areas of evangelism, community outreach, and development. God is calling people from college aged to retirement, to run the race that is set before them.
As we run into this new year, please pray with us for endurance, guidance, and provision for the fulfillment of the Goal that God has set before us at Narrow Gate Asia. And...
