"Immanuel - God with Us..!"

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son and they shall call His name Immanuel,' which translated means, 'God with us." Matthew 1:23.

Celebration of the Christmas and New Year Holiday is becoming increasingly popular in Thailand as Eastern culture meets West in this part of the world. We see many of the familiar sites like decorated trees, Santa Clause, and even fake snow in a can to spray on your windows in a country that has never even seen snow!

Something else that they have never seen or heard is the name of Jesus. Not only have they not seen or heard, but they have not had the opportunity to experience the Power of His Name in their lives and hearts. Of course for us, we have a heightened awareness about the story of Jesus birth at this time of year, but the the real blessing is knowing without a doubt that Jesus, the Son of God was born on Christmas day to be with us here on Earth. He came to join us here as a man, and also gave us the gift of His Spirit to minister to us in every aspect of our lives.

Even today, I see Him here with us. Serving alongside us. Preparing the way for us. Doing for us what we alone are not capable of doing. As I approach Christmas day this year I want to thank God for using each one of you. And I want to thank you for your availability and willingness to be used of God to reach the people of North Thailand and Myanmar with the Good News of Jesus Christ because we can not do it without your either.

His presence is everywhere! I saw Jesus in Mae Sai, when our ministry partner had over 200 Akha celebrate Christmas last Sunday. I saw Him this morning as my Pastor friend departed for Keng Tung in Myanmar for an outreach to over 500 Shan people for Christmas. And, we will see it again when our Church Planting partner across the border shares with his house church of 8 Burmese families on Christmas day.

In addition, I see Jesus working in our farm as we placed concrete in our barn this past Saturday and purchased the first 14 goats for our herd this past week. I see Him when a portion of the education for my children is provided for through means that I would have never expected, and I see Him when look at the smiling faces of my children as I tuck them into bed at night.

From our family to yours, We want to say "Merry Christmas", and we want to thank you for your prayers, service, and financial support. All without which we would not be able to represent you in North Thailand. There are many needs and opportunities to participate in through the ministries of Narrow Gate Asia.
