"Do you have something they can DO?"

We REALLY needed to build a new Buck Barn before we head out for our Stateside Assignment but, did not have the funds to hire a local carpenter.  When I received a FaceBook Message from an acquaintance in Chiang Mai from YWAM’s Business As Missions Program,  I was so blessed.  He said, “Harry, our project in Mae Sot cancelled and we have 21 BAM Trainees from all over the world that don’t have a project to do their field practicum!!  I need help!  DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING THEY CAN DO?”

Immediately I responded, “Absolutely!  Come on up to Chiang Rai and meet me at the Farm!”  On June 4 a team of 25 Trainees arrived and we worshipped, prayed, and shared about what it means to do BUSINESS as MISSION (BAM).  And now, every day, God has provided our outreach project with 5-8 volunteer interns to help us.  Tomorrow, the team will finish building our new barn and help to move in the new residents.  After that we will be working on more projects that will help to prepare us and our team to be ready for my family’s State-side visit coming up in June.

BAM Team working on New Buck Barn

God provides in amazing ways, and most often in ways we would never expect.  I told the team this morning that we could not afford to build the barn, but because they are here, and willing to serve, our barn is nearing completion.  This barn will open up much needed nursery space in the main barn, and give our males a place of their own which will help our team over the next year to better manage our milk production schedule and maintain the best tasting milk in Thailand.

BAM Interns working and learning about Missions

More than that, the BAM team from Youth with a Mission has been an encouragement to me, and also an opportunity to prepare God’s Men and Women for service in the mission field through their experience with Narrow Gate Asia.  They are learning not only how to work on the farm, but also how to do ministry and share the Gospel in a unique context.
