"We Worship in the BARN Today!"

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn … But the angel said to them, “I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Our small house church including our staff, foreigners and missionaries held worship services yesterday at our new barn in Chiang Rai, Thailand.  It was a great time of worship and we got to see our children reenact the story of Jesus Birth on Christmas day in Bethlehem.  We held our worship time at the farm, because as you may already know, we are moving our ministry project, staff, and livestock to Chiang Rai from Mae Sai THIS WEEK!  We are so excited about this development, and we are confident that this is going to make our family and ministry at Narrow Gate more effective or sharing the “Good News” of Jesus Christ and for training pastors to be self-sustainable.

But … What excited me the most yesterday, as I watched the Christmas story unfold in our BARN  was that Jesus was laid in a manger.  Mary and Joseph gave birth to him in the most unassuming, inappropriate place … a BARN.  This little stable in Bethlehem became a place to worship and glorify God, our Savior, the King of Kings who was born that first Christmas morning.  He was born in a barn that BECAME a place of WORSHIP.

Worship in the Milking Parlor at Narrow Gate Farm Chiang Rai.

Yesterday morning, we met our Farm in Chiang Rai for worship.  We sang, we shared testimony, we prayed, and studied God’s word.  On Wednesday this week, our place of WORSHIP, will become a BARN.  I was so blessed to realize that our little barn is a place of WORSHIP FIRST, and this will be used as a barn.  Before anything else, our barn is a place to give glory to God in the highest, a place to sing His praises, and seek Him first before anything else. …  And then we can raise goats here.

The Bible says to “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to it.”  Shouldn’t our lives be like this?  Our bodies, our minds, our souls, should be first at place of worship.  Then we will be given the power, the capacity, and the resources to fulfill the calling that God has given to each one of us.  We are His Children. We are His disciples.  And we are given a purpose to fulfill in each of our lives, but before we do anything else, we are to Worship the one true God who is worthy of our praise.

This Christmas season, how are you going to Worship Him?  As we approach Christmas day, and the end of the year, I want to ask you very specifically to pray about and consider giving financially to the ministry and projects of Narrow Gate Asia in Thailand.  We need your help.  As we complete our move to Chiang Rai,  there are needs to numerous to list where we could use your help.  As we approach the end of the year, your special gift will help position us of a strong start in 2014.  You may also want to pray about giving a monthly contribution that will go towards missionary support and ministry budgets.  These gifts, are a form of worship, that will be used to impact the Kingdom of God in North Thailand. So we hope you will prayerfully consider how God might use you in the Narrow Gate this year.

The Brittan Family wishes you a Merry Christmas from Thailand.
