"Brazilians? Did I hear that right?"

Pattie and Phii Nat
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, God proved to me once again, that He has it all under control.

I unloaded the truck on Friday morning with over 1500 wooden slats to be nailed on the fence rails for our barn.  Having built barns before, I knew what a slow and tedious task this can be for one or two people.  But no sooner had I gotten the wood on the ground and string-lines set to mark level, and a truck load of Brazilians (That’s Right … Brazilians)  pulled into my driveway greeting me in Portuguese, Hugging me, and getting ready to go to work.

Getting Started on Big Task

I have never met any of these men before, but God has called them to come with their families to learn the Thai language and serve in a small mountain town about two hours from here to share with the Northern Thai people about Jesus.  They had some free time, and heard about our farm moving, and they came down to help.  And for two days, God used them to come and serve us, and alongside us in the Narrow Gate.  As I saw these 11 men grab their hammers, slats, and nails, and begin to swarm all over the new barn… I was overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude for how God sends people to help us.  A friend here in Chiang Rai had invited them, and he did all the translating and directing of the work, as only one or two spoke a little bit of English.  We completed this monumental task in very short order and came a long way towards getting ready for our big move.  I counted up the man-hours, and this would have taken me more than 10 days of non-stop work by-myself.  I praise the Lord for their willingness to help.

Help pray for us.  We have scheduled to move the farm on Wednesday, December 18.  That means we only have a few days left.  We still need to complete and pay for gates, electrical, gravel for road-beds and parking, workers housing modifications, Moving truck for the goats, and signage to let our visitors know where we are.  We are also working hard to work out our new feeding system.  Moving just as dry season begins presents us with lots of challenges in regards to nutrition and animal health. We are also working hard to recruit a new intern for service in our farm to continue on in service with the local church once his time is complete here.  We are also praying that God will open the hearts, eyes, and ears of our neighbors in our new community. We continue to meet our neighbors in adjacent farms and they are very curious about what we are doing and who we are.

Brazilian Friends after the Last Slat was Nailed.
We want to thank God for each one of you that pray, give, support, and encourage us at Narrow Gate Asia.  It is a blessing to be co-workers alongside you in this task to use our farm to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ in North Thailand.

 Thank you and God Bless.
