"The Land that God has shown Us!" Great News from Narrow Gate Asia...

A long time ago, (nearly 10 years now), God used the text to prepare and send our family to Thailand. Recently, God has been using the same text to encourage me and my family about how He is continuing to grow and develop our Family, Farm, and Ministry Focus in this region of the world. At Narrow Gate Asia, it is our heart to see God’s Kingdom come and Will be done along the Thai – Myanmar border. In addition, we want to do this in such a way as to be good stewards of what the Lord provides, and create an environment where we are “Members” of the community that open doors to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Our family has been doing that now for nearly 8 years in Mae Sai, Thailand, through evangelism, outreach, English teaching, agriculture, and training in bi-vocational ministry.

New location in Nang Lae, Just north of Chiang Rai, Thailand.

For many months we have been looking and praying for a place that we can call our own. We want a piece of land that we can purchase and develop to do what God has called us to do, and to establish our family as permanent members of the community. A few months ago, we began to get quite discouraged with this whole process and decided to QUIT looking. Pattie and I told each other that if God wanted us to move our ministry, He would provide the budget and the place. So we prayed and we waited…

Rolling hills, Electriciy, Small House, Well, good roads, Beautiful Views

Today, I want to announce that God has answered our prayer and not only given what we asked for, but a place that is more perfect than we could have ever imagined. A pastor friend asked me the other day, “Harry, how did you get this place?” My only explanation is that “We Serve a God the Provides!” We signed contracts last Saturday for a Lease/Purchase for 10 acres of prime farm land in Nang Lae, within 5 minutes of our house in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It has fertile soil, rolling hills, electricity, water, good road access, and is in a place that is easy to find.

Starting Next week, we will begin preparing the land for development of our ministry project, and with your prayers and support, we will be moved in before the NEW YEAR.

This will be the new site for Narrow Gate Farm and Dairy, our ministry project that is used for outreach, pastoral training, and housing for our interns, staff, and eventually our family. This move will help us be good stewards of our time and resources by reducing our overhead, and ministry operational costs. This initial phase of construction will include site prep, conversion of a small house into an office / receiving area, and construction of a building that will be focal point of our community outreach and relationship building strategy. We also intend to use the “Building” as the location for training pastors to learn how to do outreach, church planting, and to be self sustainable. Over time, we will also hold church/worship services in this location as the opportunity presents itself. In the future, by God’s grace, we will add more training facilities, a small guest house for volunteers and interns, pavilion for activities and worship, and public entertainment areas that will bring people into Narrow Gate Farm and Dairy for an opportunity to hear about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
