We have Arrived!!

Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre.
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD! Psalm 150: 1 - 6

Can you hear the Sound?! Can you feel the beat of the drum?! Does the sound of the cymbal send a chill down your spine?! PRAISE HIM ! PRAISE HIM ! PRAISE HIM !

This is the song of my heart this week, as we announce that we are here! We have made it home to Mae Sai, and I find it hard to put into words, the excitement that I feel when I consider the wealth of God's goodness, awesomeness of His power, and the extents of His Love! Whether you are in your home, your office, or your church, He is worthy to be Praised. Whether you are in America, the Philippines, or Thailand, He deserves our Praise!

Why you ask?

Because He is God! Because He calls us to be saved from our sin; Because He calls us to Serve Him; and Because He calls us to be with Him for Eternity!

We write today, one week after our departure Dallas/Fort Worth, to share with you that we have arrived safe and sound in Mae Sai, Thailand. After some much needed rest, and getting our internet up and running, we are now connected to the world, and can't wait to include you in our excitement about what God is going to do in North Thailand.

God called our family in March of 2003, and God's vision for the task of planting churches and ministering to His people in South East Asia is more clear today than ever before. Through Narrow Gate Asia, we are uniquely positioned to begin a community based church in this part of the world, that is based on Faith that is demonstrated through physical ministry in Bible Schools, Language Schools, Agricultural Development, and Sending Missionaries.

We thank you and praise God for your commitment to pray, encourage, and support the work and ministries of Narrow Gate Asia, and look forward to the opportunity to keep you updated so that you can share with us in Praising the one who is Worthy of our praise.

SETTLING IN

During the first several days in Mae Sai, we have had a chance to visit with many friends and Co-workers in the area.

First of all, we want to extend our thanks to Jim, Denise, Bateep, Willy, and Lois, who took great care of our house and crazy border collies while we were away. Everything was in perfect order here in Mae Sai, and that was a blessing and answer to prayer, that has made our transition home very easy. We have had a good time of fellowship with them and are glad to see them again.

Many of you have had a chance to hear testimony about our friends Zomin and MarMarMo. This past Friday, they came to the house with their children. They are healthy, and the bicycle shop is doing well. They continue to do ministry along the border, and already, they are praying about being the first members of Narrow Gate Community Church in Mae Sai; where they can continue to be prepared for future ministry opportunities.

We also have been blessed with the opportunity to meet with our Thai language teacher from several years ago. Her name is Koi, and has always been a part of our family. She went to work in the USA for 18 months, and returned recently. Yesterday, she went to church with us in Chiang Rai. God has used Koi, to bless our family by allowing Pattie to use her car this week to drive to teacher in-service days at school in Chiang Rai.

There has also been time to visit and coordinate with the Johnson Family and the great people at Baan Atthitan Church (House of Prayer) in Chiang Rai. They joined us at our home on Friday for dinner, and then we attended worship there yesterday. It is such a blessing to be able to worship God and see Him work among so many different people, tribes, and nations. God is truly at work here.
