Where are the Brittans??

We landed at DFW on Friday, March 20. We have been in the states for about 1 week. We have been so blessed while visiting family, old friends, and new friends.

This is our first time to return to the US since we left in 2006. Two of our children were too young when we left to have a good memory of the US. I think everyone in the family is having a fun time adjusting. I thought it might be fun to share with you some our culture shocks or experiences since we landed a little over a week ago. Enjoy!

The picture above is Harry driving our van for the first time. The van that we have been provided is so comfortable, and we think it will be great for our travels. Some real shock that we have experienced is learning to drive on the correct side of the road for the US. We think it is easy to drive on divided highways and roads with medians, but when we get on those two lane roads we have a bit more difficulty. I keep reminding myself "driver in the middle of the road".

We have really enjoyed many good meals. Our shock has come from being so FULL!! We are already saying we need to watch what we eat or we are going to be twice the size we were when we arrived.

Harry has already started his exercise progam. The picture above shows Harry playing boxing on the Wii. He was so sore from boxing.... It was so funny!! His real exercise program is going to be riding his bike just like he does in Thailand. Harry and Hattie will ride together in order to keep in shape, and so they can eat what ever...

Speaking of Hattie..she did not waste any time in not having her dogs around. She adopted two dogs at Mawmaw's house from the neighborhood. The following picture is Sam sleeping on the back porch.

Next, we have Nellie. Nellie was only 6 months old when we left the US. She has been checking everything out. She was so funny at the airport. The bathrooms had paper towels for drying our hands and that was "cool!". The automatic sensors at the sink and toilet have been a bit of a shock, and she is a real trooper each time the toilet flushes before she is ready. Little Harry was so fascinated with these things he went around the bathroom to test everything (including the plate covers on the vacated outlets....they didn't seem to do anything)

Nellie does seem to do well with some of the new foods she is eating. We were a bit concerned about her and the food. We visited Taco Bell this week, and she seemed to eat it just fine. Here's a picture of Nellie's thoughts....

All of the kids had a grea time getting to go play at Jump land this week also. This is a new experience for the kids. We played until everyone was really hungry, and then we went to eat lunch. If you look really closely, you might be able to see Hattie in the top of the playground. What fun!!

So how are we doing?

Blessed!!

God has gone before us to prepare the way that we will go during our stay here. He is providing for us each step of the way. We are so excited to share with each of you what God has put on our heart.
