As I look back over my life, I think that cars have been a sort of Ebenezer for me. Some people might say that a car is merely a mode of transportation, but for me, automobiles mark very important milestones in my life. I could go even farther back and include my first bicycle, removing my training wheels , getting my license to drive, first motor-cycle, first car etc. etc. etc. Each change in vehicle comes about because of fundamental changes in my abilities, responsibilities, and destinations (Figuratively and Literally). As we reflect we can see where we have come from and how we have grown through time and circumstances that God has determined for our lives. Our family has also seen how God has helped and sustained us through cars and through the people that have blessed us with them.
I can never forget when Christian Bros. Automotive in McKinney, TX gave us a Mazda MPV that we drove for 2.5 years when we went to seminary in Fort Worth (When we left, we gave it to another Student -Family to use). After that our friend Ray Huffines of Huffines Chrysler/Dodge provided our family with a van to drive to missionary orientation for 3 months in 2006, and again in 2009 he blessed us with a Van to drive while in the US for five months. When we returned to Thailand and started Narrow Gate Asia, a group of friends from the Champion’s Sunday School Class at Prestonwood Baptist Church purchased a van that has served us well for the past 3.5 years. And again, in 2010, we were blessed with the opportunity to buy my Isuzu farm truck to work and serve in the farm. Just this past summer we were blessed by my Aunt Marion and Uncle Gary who let us drive their Tahoe while we were in the States, and I will never forget getting to go on visitations in his Corvette! In all of these people and in these cars, we can very clearly see where God has helped us and provided for our family and ministry over the years.
Until recently Pattie and the kids have had a very long commute to school and the trip has taken its toll on the van. For the past year we have had to make major repairs to it and have come to the decision to trade-in for another vehicle. We have found and negotiated for a truck that will address the needs and safety of our family and ministry. We have already received several generous contributions at Narrow Gate Asia for this truck and once again want to extend our appreciation to members of the Champion’s Class at Prestonwood in Plano.
That said, we want to ask and pray for your help to “FILLER’ UP PLEASE!” Meaning that the remaining balance we need to finalize the purchase of this truck is $5,500 and we need your help to “FILLER’ UP PLEASE”. When we share this need, we are asking you to pray about how God might lead you to participate in this aspect of our life and ministry at Narrow Gate Asia. You can participate by sending in your contribution to the address listed below, or use our link to PayPal for faster service. Another way to participate is to forward this email or click the FACEBOOK Share link to include your friends and family who may not yet know about Narrow Gate Asia and our mission to South-East Asia.
We want to tell you again, what a blessing it to be called your co-workers in the task of training and preparing bi-vocational church planters who are starting churches along the Thailand/Myanmar Border. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and support.
PRAYER REQUESTS:

In His Grip
