"Calm after the Storm"

The calm, following a storm, gives us time to pause and think.  While rainy season has not yet begun, the month of April did bring with it torrential rains, and extremely high winds.  I have seen many homes with no roofs, and sections of North Thailand were without electricity for days at a time while damages were repaired.   Our home and family were fine, but our primary barn was destroyed.  Thankfully, all the animals were safe, and production has continued with no interruptions.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have had a chance to clean up the debris, make repairs, and even do some improvements that increase goat and farmer comfort.  For the time being, we have decided to wait for rebuilding until our family returns from our trip to the US.  We did not feel that now was the best time or use of resources to embark on a construction project.  I have always liked our barn, but having used it for one year, we have already identified multiple areas for improvement, and waiting will allow us the opportunity to build at a comfortable pace and incorporate necessary changes.  You can see the roof repairs, railing changes, and shaded walk-ways that we have added to help facilitate the milking process.  Meanwhile, the goats are happy and adjusted to our other barn.

Thank you for your prayers and support as work worked through a difficult month.

The Month of May, brings with it new opportunities. Our main focus during this time is to plan and prepare for our upcoming trip the USA.  Our entire family is getting excited.  We depart on June 5, after school is out.  Meanwhile, Sangtee completed his internship and has gone back to Burma.  A new intern started this week who we will train and develop to be a core team member, and Natanee (Our team member who has been helping part time in milk production and marketing) is taking on the full-time role of Farm Manager while we are away.  We have a month full of training and staff development before we go.  We are all entering into new roles as this transition takes place.  It is important for us all to grow and learn as we walk with the Lord.

I am blessed to know that you, our co-workers, are there to walk along with us.

Thank you for your prayers, and support as we face these challenges together. We are blessed to call you our Co-Workers.

In His Grip, God Bless
The Brittans
