"New Strength ... New Outlook!"

" Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary." Isaiah 40:31. I love this verse. It has been a sort of life verse for me sense I was very young, and these days it is good to remind ourselves that we gain new strength when we wait on the Lord. You see, this email has been extremely difficult to write, because honestly, I have been bogged down in the day to day mundane of work, family, and, and ministry, and have not taken a chance to look at what is going on around us here at Narrow Gate Asia. The fact is, as we pass the new year, God is opening up all kinds of NEW opportunities for our family to live, learn, work, and minister along the Thai Burma border area. I have been very tired, but as I began to brainstorm, God used this list of NEW things to encourage and strengthen me.

So Here goes!

  • New Year - With a sense of expectation, we always look back, and plan forward about what this new year and season will lead too.
  • New School Term - at Chiang Rai International Christian School. Please pray that our children will be blessed by the education, and for God's provision related to tuition and expenses for the 2011-12 school year.
  • New House for the Brittan's- That's right, we are moving. Our landlord needs our house back, and the reality is that the 2+ hour round trip commute is taking its toll on our family and vehicle. So we have decided to move to Chiang Rai. Narrow Gate Farm and Dairy and the associated training and outreach programs will remain in Mae Sai. We need for you to pray for this move. Pray for God to provide $2000 to cover the cost of deposits, set up, moving, and the many other things that come up during a move. We are Planning on spending our first night in Chiang Rai on February 24.
  • New Goat Kids in the Barn - 2012 kidding season is off and running with 3 new additions to the herd. These little ones are excellent quality and excellent health, they will make a great addition to our goat distribution program for bi-vocational pastors.
  • New Kids for our Interns - Mathias and Elizabeth, and Henry and Mary Shwe are all expecting additions to there families in the April. It has been interesting to help them plan, prepare, and get the medical attention that they need. Pray for their families and new babies.
  • New Partnerships - We are praying for God's guidance, as we explore the possibilities of working together with old friends and new in a ministry partnership that will strengthen and broaden our ministry capabilities. Please pray for wisdom, guidance, and discernment.
  • New Intern in April - We have selected and are now preparing for our newest intern, Phii Eek, to arrive at the farm in April. He is Thai, and has a heart for evangelism in the Mae Sai area. He brings with him experience in pastoral training, and leadership development.
  • New Housing for our Interns - As we receive new co-workers on the farm, we are preparing to build housing for their stay on the farm. Pray for God's provision of resources to construct this projects, and also for diligence in getting the work done.
  • New Church Planting Program for Interns - As we have entered this new year, we started on a study course that seems to be very encouraging for the interns. We are focusing on Developing Vision and Goals, Living by Faith, and Planting Churches that follow Biblical Purposes.
  • New Discipleship Program - That is focusing on developing our young families to be workmen approved, and who can identify and balance priorities between family, work, and ministry.
  • New Outreach in Phaa Mii Village - Our Intern Mathias will begin this week to prayer walk every Wednesday with his mentor Pastor AhMeh in the Akha village where he is planting a church. Pray that this will lead to the entire village being saved.
  • New Feed Processing Station for the Farm - We built a bamboo shelter and acquired the ultimate Salad Shooter for our goats. I pray is that this new system will be more efficient and provide better quality feed for our animals and demonstrate a technology that will make our pastor's farms more profitable.
  • New Visas and Passports - It is that time again. We are beginning the process of renewing all of our travel documents and papers that allow us to stay in Thailand. Pray for favor with authorities, the paper process, and provision of fees and expenses.
  • New Trip to the USA - Our family has been in Thailand on this trip for nearly three years. The time has been full and has gone very fast. We look forward to coming to the USA to as a family to visit all of our friends and family. We are excited to have a chance to see and update all of our Co-Workers as well, so that you can hear first hand about what God has been doing through your prayers and support along the Thai-Burma Border. Pray for Airfare, Land Travel, Housing, Visits and Speaking Opportunities, and for expenses that we will incur during our stay in America. We hope to come during the months of June and July.

By showing me all of this, God is giving me "NEW STRENGTH". This email is longer than most that I write, but I hope that you are as blessed as I have been with the opportunity to see just how much is going on at Narrow Gate Asia, along the Thai-Burma Border. As I close today, my prayer for all of our Co-Workers, is that you can Wait on the Lord and that your vision, and commitment to the work of God's hand in this region will "Gain New Strength"!

Thank you for your prayers and support,
Forever In His Grip
Harry and Pattie Brittan
