"The Brittan Family ... Ambassadors to the people of North Thailand!"

“… We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5: 20.

Being an ambassador to Visitors of all ages at the farm.

Last week our family went to have dinner at our friend’s home in Chiang Rai.  She is the daughter of Thailand’s former Ambassador to Italy.  It was interesting to hear about some of her experiences growing up in Italy and Thailand while he father fulfilled this role.  She is a singer and worship leader,, and her father’s relationships as an ambassador opened up many opportunities for her as well to make connections in the community and to do ministry in the church.  As an ambassador, and even as his daughter, respect and authority were granted to them and they are recognized by the people to represent Thailand on matters of law, policy, and relationships.

While this was not the focus of our dinner conversation, this concept continued to come back to my thoughts even after we left their home.  I have been reading a lot from 2 Corinthians, and Paul has a lot to say about the roles and responsibilities of Jesus in our relationship with Him, and also about our roles as believers and as His servants.

This idea of Ambassador came back again yesterday when I had lunch with another missionary friend with 25 years of experience in Thailand.   I was sharing with him about our ministry opportunities through our Farm project in North Thailand, and while often fraught with challenges, we continue to see amazing inroads to the community for the Gospel.  That said, I told him that often “I don’t FEEL like a missionary.”

He said … “In the traditional sense of the term, ‘You may not want to use the word missionary!” But, you are an AMBASSADOR on behalf of Christ.”  And your position in the community as a farmer, as a business man, as a husband and father, has created an opportunity that is uniquely effective in missions strategy!

Chiang Rai International Christian School a place to ambassador to the community

Narrow Gate Asia, has a vision to penetrate the communities where we live, work, and serve with the “Good News of Jesus Christ” and we are excited that God has given us a unique vision and opportunity to work alongside you.  We are Ambassadors and Farmers for the purpose of comfort and reconciliation of God’s people in North Thailand.  Pray with us, that “His Kingdom will come, and Will be done” in North Thailand.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Pray for the new school term at Chiang Rai International Christian School where the children study and Pattie serves as a full-time teacher.  Pray for the kid’s time of learning and also that they all would be a blessing to the missionary community and also to those students that do not yet know Jesus.
  • Pray for good health.  Pattie, Lil Harry, and Nellie are sick right now.  Pray for fast healing.  Also pray for Harry’s continued to recovery.  He is blessed with good doctors, medications, and is doing much better.
  • Pray for provision for monthly support for personal and ministry needs.
  • Pray for provision of resources for our land purchase and development program.
  • Pray that God will use His Ambassadors at Narrow Gate Asia to share the Gospel BOLDLY in the communities of North Thailand where they serve and that the people will hear and respond to God’s World.
God Bless, and Thank you from the Brittan Family

Harry, Pattie, Hattie, Emma, Harry V, and Nellie.
