You're Looking at it WRONG! Change your Perspective!"

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, … You are looking at things as they are outwardly. If anyone is confident in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again within himself, that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we.”  2 Corinthians 10: 3 – 7.

My trip to the US in March was filled with blessing after blessing and I can not express enough what it means to me and my family to have been received by all of you so lovingly and generously.  I had a chance to visit friends, family, churches, and ministry partners across Texas and also out to Tennessee.  One of our foremost goals for the trip was to introduce our new land and ministry project development in Chiang Rai, and the response to support and grow this project was amazing.  ON THIS TRIP … We raised more than 10% of the capital needed towards the principle purchase amount, and we thank God for using you to make this possible.  As we move towards overall goal of $90,000 usd, we wait in eager anticipation about how God will continue to provide and support this project and ministry in North Thailand.

You may have noticed, that my messages, emails, and Facebook, have been eerily silent of the past few weeks.  That is because Farm, Teenagers, Milk Sales, Family, Staff, and did I say TEENAGERS? … have been keeping Pattie and I busy from sun up until Sun down.  It has been a real encouragement to see how our family has pulled together to take care of things, and the farm and ministry from a production standpoint is better off than ever.  That said,  as I look at this verse and consider the busyness and the distractions of the past few weeks, I am reminded that when we are struggling and distracted, it may mean we are trying to do more than we can.  We have to step back, and allow Christ to do it for us.

The other during milking time, I Thai man named Khun SutChaay came by to visit and talk about raising goats and buy some of our males.  3:30 in the afternoon, is one of the more intense times of the day, as we are beginning our second milking of the day, and we are tired, the animals are stressed, and it was over 100 degrees farenheit.  So many things to consider and then you compound that with a visitor.  Khun SutChaay had some many questions, and of course, if we take the time, we have answers.  To slow him down a bit, I offered him a bottle of Ice Cold milk to quench his thirst …

As he finished his bottle of milk, He asked Phi Nat in Northern Thai, “What does NARROW GATE mean?”  As I listened to her begin to explain the reason for the name, I was overwhelmed with a sense of “WORK”, and a burden for all of the tasks that we still had to do.  And that is when she turned to me and asked if I would elaborate some more.  Sweat running down my face, still milking the goat that was on my table, I began to explain about the choice the Jesus gives to us when we are deciding which gate to enter, and how to live our lives.

We are not fighting a battle of flesh and blood.  Not matter the situation,  land purchases, raising a family, building a ministry … Our perspective should be one of focusing on Christ.  Khun SutChaay will return.  We will visit with him more and we are praying that he too will have an opportunity to “enter the Narrow Gate that leads to life.”

Thank you again for our time together in the US.   Our family and ministry have been blessed.  We look forward to seeing you again in 2015, and meanwhile, we are thankful that we are joined in prayer for the salvation of the people in North Thailand.
