In Hope....... With Hope

Hope, Arkansas....what a fun place! It may be a small town, but it is a friendly town.

"But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love" Psalm 33:18

The van is still in the shop, and it is being worked on. The problem with our engine either a thrown rod or bad cylinder. Either way...they are putting in a new engine. Tomorrow morning the new (used) engine will arrive, and it is possible that we will be on our way mid-day or early afternoon. The Lord provides.

So what did we do to pass the time today?? What kind of things did we find in Hope, Arkansas.

We found a friendly couple at Wendy's during lunch that invited us to come play at their farm with their cows and chickens. Since we did not have a way to get there, we could not go. Sounded like fun!

We found a wonderful dealership that was willing to not only work with us, but was willing to take us to a park for the kids to play. The park was too far to walk, so they took us there and picked us up when we called them.

We found a wonderful park called "Fair Park" here. The kids played for a about one and a half hours, and then THEY asked to leave. They were all tired. At the park there was a great playground, and of course, there were friends to play with. The kids ran around, screamed, and laughed, too.

At the park, we also found many wonderful people. We talked with a Mrs. Porter who was there with her 2 year old and 4 month old daughters. She was so kind to tell us about what there was to do in Hope. She so graciously told us there was nothing to do in Hope....except tonight was "Kids Eat Free" night at Pizza Hut!! Great! She told us that when they want to do something fun like shopping, movies, or anything they drive to Texarkana (about 30 miles away). She also laughed a bit when she told us that Hope use to have bowling alley up until 2 weeks ago when it burned down for the 2nd time in 10 years. What a delight it was to chat with her about her life here.

We did eat at Pizza Hut tonight, and we are now relaxing in our hotel room.

We were so blessed by the many people who we met today. It was a real pleasure to hang out in Hope today . We have hope in the plans the HE has for us. We have hope that we will be on the road tomorrow.

Please pray that the replacement engine will work good for us. Please pray that we will not have any trouble with the work that is being done. Please pray for our health. A few of us in the family has a cold with cough. Please pray that our travels will allow us to arrive in Fort Worth tomorrow, so we can prepare for our appointments on Thursday.

Good morning! I love reading your posts, it sounds just like you talking. I am so thankful you all are making the best of a bad situation. I am so thankful that it was not raining all day, or really cold! It looks like the kids had a lot of fun at the park. Here's "hoping" you get on your way....I have more to say later!

O:)
