Greetings from Mae Sai,
One week ago, we wrote to enlist your support in Prayer for our trip “in country” to finalize the establishment of our NGO. Well, my partner and I have returned safe and sound to our homes here in Mae Sai, and we bring with us “Good News” of His faithfulness and mercy. I wish I could write to you every detail and experience, but because of the sensitive nature of the situation, you will have to trust that God has been good. After a full day of trekking and visiting potential land sites, we had opportunity to meet with the local and state level directors of agriculture. The following day, even prior to our meeting with the military governor, we received word that “Our Project Has Been APPROVED”!!! This is a testimony to the power of prayer!!! As I mentioned last week, it is amazing that we were even allowed in to have these discussions, and to leave with an approval and a project site selected, is nothing short of a miracle.
I know that we serve a BIG God, and I have Huge expectations for Him when we pray, but I never cease to be amazed at His capacity to make things happen. We will now begin the process of putting together an implementation plan with the hopes of starting actual work in January. We will continue to be based out of Mae Sai, and direct work through our local regional training center. But our “in country” approval will allow for our establishment of a training center and agricultural models on approximately 15 acres.
We are not yet finished. We have received preliminary approval, but we must continue to pray. Pray specifically for the approval of one year multi-entry visas for Jethro and Myself. Also, pray for the approval of a special border pass that will allow for our frequent travel through Mae Sai.
I must tell you, that we had an interesting trip. God was always faithful to encourage and strengthen us. He always answers prayer, and we are excited to see what he will do next.
We thank you very much for your continued prayer support. We will keep you posted as things develop, and always know that we too are praying for each of you.
In His Grip
Harry
From Pattie:
I also want to thank you for all the prayers. We had a great “normal” week here in Mae Sai while Harry was gone. God gave me strength each day. I felt stronger during these days that I have felt in a long time. Also, he enabled a friend to stay with us each night. It was a great relief to have help. I rested very well.
I know your prayers made this week possible for us also. Everyone here is healthy and WISE….and the kids will tell you that they are the wisest of them all!! (insert mom laughing here). It was a real delight to see the kids operating in “normal” mode all week.
Please continue to pray for me and kids while we stay here in Mae Sai each time Harry travels. This is not a choice we would have chosen for ourselves, but God will provide for our every need we have no doubt. We will continue on as normal each day.
Thank you!
Pattie
