Harry turned 3 !!!

On May 25th, Lil Harry turned 3 years old. He is growing up so fast. I can't believe it has already been 3 years. I wanted to take a minute to talk about his birthday celebration.

On his birthday, we took donuts to his class at school. The donut shop here is called Mister Donut. The shop opens at 9am and closes at 9pm, so donuts are not just for breakfast. All the kids love to eat donuts, so we knew it would be a hit at school. Everyone enjoyed a donut for a snack. They also sang Happy Birthday to Harry in English. It was a fun time. In Harry's class there are only 5 students, and they often do things with other classes. Emma gets to see Harry the most since the nursery and Kindergarten spend some time together each day.

After school we took Harry home to his birthday surprise. We have always wanted to get him a battery powered toy to ride on, so this year we were able to get him a motorcycle. Here in Thailand motocycles are one of the main modes of transportation. Harry loves motorcycles now, so this motorcycle is just his size. He was so excited when he got it. He rode it all night until the battery died. We were glad the battery was dead so that we could turn in for the night. Harry knows that we have to charge it each night. The motorcycle has lights, blinkers, and a horn. Of course....it also plays some fun music for his riding pleasure.

Harry loves to give others rides on his motocycle. Even Emma and Hattie have tried to ride on it, but they are really too big. Nellie loves it. She thinks she should ride each time he gets it out. Don't worry...I walk along side her to hold her on. She is pretty smart though....she holds on to Harry. A few of Harry's friends have come over and Harry has given them a ride. He is doing great with sharing his new toy.

That evening Harry picked our dinner. He wanted chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and french fries. We were able to find it all here in Thailand. We brought the macaroni and cheese in Chiang Mai back in March, so it is in short supply. What a treat it was for the kids! After dinner Harry rode his motorcycle until the battery stopped working. He really had a fun day!!

We had a party for Harry on that Sunday. A few friends came over to our house for some fun. We had a splash pool for the kids to play in, and we also played some games. Harry's birthday cake was brownies this year. It was a big hit with the kids. We also served ice cream. Harry received many gifts from his friends. He received many new toys, a shirt, motocycle helmet, shoes, and a ball to play with in the pool. Harry really loved his party.

After the party we all went into town for dinner at our favorite street vendor. We call it "Spaghetti Guy". He serves spaghetti with meat sauce, fried pork or chicken hamburger, steak, and steamed salad. The food is excellent. Harry and Emma love the pork hamburger, Hattie, mom, dad, and Nellie all love the spaghetti. It was fun to just enjoy being with our friends here.

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Harry. Also, thank you for the prayers for him. Lil Harry is such a sweet boy, and I am so glad we were able to please him with a fun birthday celebration.

Please pray the Lil Harry will come to know the Lord at an early age. Pray that Harry will have many friends here to play with, and pray that he will learn to speak Thai so that he can talk with the other children.
