"In the Beginning ... They was AGGIES!"

Kyle Field
HOWDY!!

Twenty-two years ago, Pattie picked me up at the DIXIE CHICKEN in College Station, Texas. We were there you see, because we was Aggies. This was a little redneck, hangout, where Friday nights would be packed with friends playing pool, dominoes, and swapping lies about how great we did on the test we just took. Not long before that fateful day, I had told a buddy of mine that I was going to meet my wife there one day, and then I met Pattie. The rest is history!

A lot of time and travels have passed since that time. While we are in the states, we are taking time to visit several college campuses for our daughter Hattie who will be faced with the decision of where to go in the coming years. This week we were blessed with the chance to visit my cousin Christy and her family in College Station… And return to Texas A&M, tour the campus, visit with advisors in the Animal Science Department, the Corps of Cadets, the Equine Center, and see the Veterinary School. I was amazed at the development since we had left, but more than that, I was overwhelmed with pride for my children, for our family, and that God has allowed us to come so far.

Still the same after 22 yrs!
Going back to the place where Pattie and I began our adult life together brought with it a flood of memories, and gratitude for everyone who has made that possible along the way. I am also thankful that God does not see us for who we are, but rather who we can be when we choose to follow Him in obedience and faithfulness. He does not allow us to stay the same, but rather He uses the power of the Holy Spirit to continually mold and shape us into his workmen “approved”.

We visited the “Chicken”, we went to the “Century Tree” where I proposed to Pattie, and even saw “Study Lounge F” where we kissed for the first time when we should have been doing homework. The care-free days of our youth are long gone, but it was fun to go back and visit those days, more than 22 years later.

I am proud to be an Aggie Class of ’95!
I am proud to be a Farmer!
I am proud to be Father to my four wonderful Children!
I am especially proud to be Pattie’s Husband!
I am most proud to be God’s son!

Who'd o' thought back then, that we would be having lunch there with the kids?

This trip to the U.S. this summer, has been filled with many opportunities to visit and meet with friends and family as we share about what God is doing at Narrow Gate Asia. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support as we work to develop Bi-Vocational pastors along the Thai-Myanmar border.

Thank you, and God Bless.
